Sefton is a market town in Lancashire, England, on the coast called the Fylde, it is the administrative centre of the borough of Wyre and is in the parliamentary constituency of Wyre and Preston North. It lies adjacent to the Blackpool Urban Area and roughly 5 miles from that town centre. Sefton has a library and two secondary schools. Although there is no longer a weekly market there is a farmers' market once a month.
The town has a shopping centre with supermarkets in 10 minutes of the cottage, there are banks and cash machines, restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops. Just 35 minutes from Sefton is Blackpool and the sandy beaches and the newly refurbished pier and promenade.
Local activities can be in the form of wind surfing, sailing, swimming, taking a trek through the wildlife parks, villages, go horse riding, theathre and not forgetting the golf course at St Annes. A car is essential for those long journeys.
There are rail links to Manchester, Blackpool and Preston, the station is only a few minutes walk from the cottage, bus routes go to the other local towns. If you need a ferry to travel then the ferry port at Fleetwood is roughly 25 minutes drive.
